Entering the 21st century...

Today is the first day I am posting a blog message...finally, into the 21st century I come!

Here I am, in beautiful downtown Courtenay, British Columbia, sitting in the Cardero Internet Cafe. I've been harrassing my teammates, Stu and Brad, to help me set up my very first blog (I should give shoutouts to their blogs, which contain MUCH more information than mine at the moment...).

Why, you ask, has it taken me so long to get my personal thoughts into cyberspace? Well, I want to keep you (my friends and family, and curious rubberneckers) in the loop with my going's-on while I spend six months working in Uganda. On October 1, I fly from Vancouver to Entebbe to begin a CIDA-sponsored internship with Africa Community Technical Services. Once on the ground, I'll be helping rural villagers in creating and developing agricultural projects. Easy peasy...Not really. Soooo, stay tuned to...
